The Most Empowering Tool I've Acquired as a Human Being

Updated: Apr 8, 2022

In the words of Audre Lorde, writing is not a luxury. If thinking is incubation, then writing is birth.

Writing is the only way to bring voice and validity to overlooked human experiences, making the world a more humane place.

For those of us who live on the margins of society, we already knew this. Our freedom to move through the world in relative safety with autonomy over our identities and life choices is largely a result of us releasing new language, new expressions into the collective consciousness.

Writing is a tool for change. But most of us aren't using it.

Here's the problem: most of us are afraid to write - even if we have something to say.

When we allow fear to take over in the realm of creativity, we tend to cling to precedents. We often look for clichés, rely on ready-made templates, and resort to copying others' work. In other words, we abandon our inner resources and lose our voice.

For me, writing is a meditation that helps me sit with my fear long enough to access my inner truth and let it energize me.

Whether it's initiating difficult conversations from afar, writing speeches, making sense of complexity, or promoting an awesome new course, I use writing to ground myself in the part of me that feels confident, playful, and expansive.

Get the guts to lead with words.

If you believe that writing is not a luxury but a powerful tool for change, if you want to be able to lead with your thoughts and words, then my new course is for you.

If you have something to share but struggle either with the writing process or with imposter syndrome, join my beta-test of the only writing course that helps you:

  • Navigate your own writing process from a mindset of growth and self-compassion

  • Master writing voice and tone

  • Self-edit like a pro (because there is no good writing, only good rewriting)

  • Give and receive feedback in a supportive creative community

  • Nail the fundamental writing principles so you can write anything

The beta test of Writing Through the Wilderness will run live on September 11, 2021 - and it will never be this low-priced.

This is going to be fun. I'm excited to see you there!
